PCA Supports New Government Initiative to Attract More Job Seekers to the Skilled Trades
PCA commends the Ford government for taking a leadership role in boosting the skilled trades. The government has launched a new multi-media advertising campaign that promotes the skilled trades as a rewarding and lucrative career choice. PCA was pleased to attend today’s campaign launch by the Honourable Monte McNaughton, Minister of Labour, Training and Skills Development.
“We’re delighted this government has made it a priority to get the message out to students, parents and all job seekers that the skilled trades are a valuable career choice,” said Karen Renkema, PCA’s Vice President, Ontario. “With one in five future jobs in the skilled trades, changing perceptions and attracting thousands of new skilled tradespeople is a must.”
The new ad campaign featuring the tagline “Find a career you wouldn’t trade” will run across the province in movie theatres, online and in coffee shops over the next several weeks. You can see one of the ads here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKysmefXZjg&feature=youtu.be
PCA encourages members to help get the message out by sharing the ads across their social media networks.
